Sophia Terms of Service

The Service is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to apply for or use the Service. We require your date of birth during onboarding and may request additional proof of age if eligibility is unclear.

If we determine you are under 18 (or cannot verify you are 18+), we will not approve your account and may suspend or terminate access.

Sophia is an agentic matchmaking service that may help you:

• clarify relationship goals, values, and preferences,
• build a compatibility profile (“Compatibility Map”),
• receive curated potential matches and/or introductions, and
• access relationship-oriented tools and guidance.

Sophia does not guarantee that you will find a match or enter a relationship. Sophia is not a medical, mental health, or legal service, and nothing on the Service is professional advice.

Sophia is curated. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.

• A curation team reviews each signup before approval.
• We may approve, decline, suspend, or terminate accounts to enforce these Terms, our policies, and safety standards.

You agree to provide accurate information, keep it up to date, and protect your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Sophia may communicate with you via SMS/text message and, if enabled, voice calls. By providing your phone number and using the Service, you consent to receive messages related to onboarding, the Service, support, safety, and account administration.

If you opt out of required Service messages, parts of the Service may not function.

Some parts of the Service require payment (e.g., subscriptions or one-time services). Prices and billing terms are shown at checkout.

• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions may renew automatically unless you cancel before renewal.
• Cancellation: Cancel using your account instructions or by contacting support (see Section 15).

Refund guarantee: For Sophia’s agentic matchmaking services, we offer a refund if you do not accept any introduction. Contact support for details and verification.

We may update pricing or features from time to time. If a change affects an active subscription, we will provide notice as required by law.

To facilitate introductions, Sophia may share limited information about you with potential matches (for example, a compatibility summary and non-sensitive details). We aim to minimize what we share and align sharing with your preferences and safety.

Off-platform interactions: If you choose to communicate with someone outside Sophia (e.g., phone, text, email, or in person), you do so at your own risk. Sophia does not control off-platform behavior.

Safety reminder: We do not guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of any other person. Use good judgment and prioritize safety when meeting anyone.

You may not use the Service for:

• harassment, threats, stalking, or hate,
• impersonation or misrepresentation (including misrepresenting age),
• fraud, scams, or coercion,
• sexual services solicitation, exploitation, or trafficking,
• any sexual content involving minors or any form of CSAM,
• doxxing or non-consensual intimate content, or
• attempts to bypass safeguards, scrape the Service, or disrupt systems.

Your use is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”), incorporated by reference.

“User Content” includes information you submit through the Service (including SMS messages and onboarding responses).

You keep your rights to your User Content. You grant Sophia a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and use your User Content to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, enforce our policies, and comply with law.

You represent that you have the rights to submit User Content and that it does not violate these Terms or applicable law.

Sophia may use automated systems to generate insights, summaries, or recommendations (“Output”) based on your inputs. Output may be inaccurate or incomplete. You are responsible for how you use Output, and Sophia is not liable for decisions you make based on it.

The Service and all related software, branding, and materials (excluding User Content) are owned by Sophia and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

The Service may rely on third-party services (e.g., hosting, analytics, SMS delivery, payment processing). We are not responsible for third-party services not controlled by us.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, the AUP, or applicable law, or to protect users and the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sophia disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sophia will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service or your interactions with any other person. Sophia’s total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid Sophia in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or $100 if you paid nothing), unless applicable law requires otherwise.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Venue for disputes will be in the courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms and update the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
